Top chef nel mondo: accordo in Cina per Bocuse d’Or 2018

GL events and Lingnan Group signed officially an agreement in Guangzhou, China at the Garden Hotel to hold jointly Bocuse d’Or Asia-Pacific on May 8th and 9th 2018. On the coming 30th anniversary of the establishment of Twin Cities of Guangzhou and Lyon, the success of signing is the achievement realized by the two cities’ cooperation and it is also the first time for Guangzhou to become the one of cities which could have this rare chance to hold a world’s top cuisine competition with the reputation of “culinary Olympics”.

Bocuse d’Or is the world-class cuisine competition named after Paul Bocuse, world’s famous French chef. Every two years, the Grand Finale is held in Lyon, France, to promote and manifest the best contemporary culinary talents, the inheritance and innovation of the diverse cuisine traditions and foods culture. As part of the selection process, Bocuse d’Or Asia Pacific is a unique competition gathering 12 teams composed of the very best chefs of the continent. The event will be held in Guangzhou Baiyun International Convention Center on May 8th and 9th 2018. Only the first 5 chefs will win their tickets to represent their respective countries in the Grand Finale of the Bocuse d’Or to be held on January 29th and 30th 2019 as part of the Sirha Lyon France trade exhibition.

Participating countries: Australia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam.

In the opinion of Mr Pasquet, managing director of GL events Exhibitions, Bocuse d’Or is not only an arena for the world’s top chefs, but also an innovative stage with the fusion of the world’s different culinary culture. He believes the cooperation with Lingnan Group which is based in Guangzhou, among the forefront of China and a company with rich resources of tourism, hotels, restaurants, exhibitions, food industry chain and GL events, organizer of Sirha trade show and Dîner des Grands Chefs will make China and Guangzhou cuisine culture dazzle with Bocuse d’Or, and realize the most perfect fusion. This event will prompt Guangzhou to become “the world’s cuisine capital”, and boost the international development of catering, exhibitions and tourism industries in Guangzhou.

In January 1987, Paul Bocuse created the Bocuse d’Or, a revolutionary gastronomy contest. Replicating the codes of major sporting events, he imagined a true show placing the emphasis on cooking and on the chefs.
